We are opening this fall (2020), offering  membership to school teams and clubs, and individual members who wish to learn to sail and/or help us implement the program  KAandJosh

We currently offer basic sailing instruction through our membership program.  Instruction is conducted on our 420 dinghys, led by qualified HS and College varsity sailors who are supervised by our sailing director.  The 420 dinghy is a lively two-person sailboat  That requires a reasonable level of agility and fitness.  The 420 is a suitable training platform for teens and young adults, is fun to sail, and it (along with it’s cousin, the FJ) is found in many high school and college sailing programs.
A description of our basic dingy sailing course can be found HERE (MS Word Format). Lecture notes for the classroom part of the course can be found HERE (MS PowerPoint Format).

We are currently scheduling a basic sailing course  Class will meet for five evenings.  Class Dates are Oct 6,7,8,13, and 15..  This class includes a family membership.  If you would like to sign up for this, please go to our membership page, download and complete the application and waiver forms, and bring them with your check to the Kingsmill Marina Harbor Master’s office.  We need a minimum of four students and a will enroll a maximum of 8.  Signup closes October 1st..  If we do not get a minimum number of students for this class we will return your check.  Depending on interest, we plan to hold other classes through the end of October.

As we grow, we plan to add larger dinghys and keelboats to provide a more stable platform for mature sailors.
Meanwhile, for adults interested in learning a bit about sailing while enjoying a larger, more stable keelboat, coach John offers a six hour sailing experience with instruction and some hands-on experience. These are fun and can give you an idea. Up to four people for $400.00.. For Williamsburg residents or residents of James City County, proceeds will go to the Williamsburg Sailing Foundation. Check out the website for the boat at  http://www.jwandling.net/Pisces/.

In additon to our growing program, sailing instruction for young people is offered by other organizations  located within a 45 minute drive from Williamsburg.:

Training for Adults is available at the Hampton Yacht club or at Sailtime Virginia Beach (https://sailtime.com/virginia-beach/ )
